Imagine a juicy, flavorful meatloaf that’s sure to become a family favorite. This classic Southern recipe is a staple for a reason!

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). While that’s warming up, butter a 9×5-inch loaf pan – yes, butter! Don’t be shy, now.
In a large bowl, combine 2 pounds of ground beef (go for the good stuff – 80% lean is the way to go!), 1 chopped onion, 1 cup of ketchup, 1 cup of Italian-seasoned bread crumbs, 2 eggs, 1 ½ teaspoons of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper. Mix it all up until it’s just combined – don’t overdo it!

Press that meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, making sure to leave a little room around the edges. Now, it’s time for the sauce!
In a saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups of ketchup, ¼ cup of water, 3 tablespoons of white wine vinegar, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, and 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce. Cook it all over medium heat, stirring until it’s smooth and warm – about 10 minutes.

Pour about 1/3 of that amazing sauce over the meatloaf, then pop it into the oven. Baste it with more sauce every 25 minutes or so, until it’s cooked through – about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
When it’s done, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing it up and serving. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed!
