Get ready to indulge in the most epic green bean extravaganza of your life.

Today, we’re diving into the world of steamed green beans, and trust me, you won’t want to miss this!. No more boring, mushy green beans and bland seasonings!

Steaming green beans is an art, and we’re about to master it. The key to making perfect green beans is to not overcook them. Yes, you read that right – don’t overcook them! You want them to be bright green, tender, but still with a bit of bite.

So, how do you achieve this green bean perfection? It’s quite simple, really. All you need is a pot or deep skillet with a lid, a steam basket, and some green beans. If you don’t have a steam basket, don’t worry, you can still make delicious green beans without it.

First, rinse your green beans in a colander and snap off any ends that still have a stem attached. Don’t worry about the pointy end, it’s perfectly fine to eat. You can snap your green beans in half or leave them long and whole for a more dramatic presentation.

Next, place about an inch of water in a pot or deep skillet and put the steam basket on top. Fill the steam basket with the washed green beans and place a lid on the pot. Turn the heat on to high and allow the water to come up to a boil.

Once the water begins to boil, allow the beans to steam for about 5 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of tenderness. You can check on them after 5 minutes and give them a little more time if needed.

Remove the pot from the heat, lift the steam basket and beans out of the pot, then discard the water. Place the beans back into the pot without the steam basket, add some butter, and stir to melt the butter. Season with a little salt and pepper, and you’re done!

But wait, there’s more! You can add all sorts of delicious seasonings to your green beans. Try adding some garlic salt, dried dill weed, or even some toasted almonds. The possibilities are endless!

So, go ahead and get creative with your green beans. Add your favorite seasonings and enjoy the perfect side dish. Happy cooking!
