Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 45 minutes
Yields: 4 servings

Get ready to sink your teeth into the most tender, juicy, and flavorful frozen pork chops of your life, all thanks to the magic of the Instant Pot!

Who says frozen meat can’t be transformed into a culinary masterpiece? Today, we’re going to show you how to turn those solid blocks of pork into a mouthwatering, fall-apart delight that’ll make your taste buds do the happy dance!

First, let’s get started by firing up that Instant Pot and selecting the Sauté function. Add in 2 tablespoons of butter, and once it’s hot, throw in 1 thinly sliced yellow onion. Stir frequently until it’s soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Next, add in 1 teaspoon of garlic base (you can use whatever you have on hand, but we love the Better Than Bouillon Roasted Garlic Base) and pour in ½ cup of water. Stir to combine, then sprinkle a mixture of all-purpose seasoning and shallot salt on both sides of those frozen pork chops.

Nestle those pork chops on top of the onion, hit Cancel, and seal that lid into place. Select high pressure according to the manufacturer’s instructions, set the timer for 13 minutes, and let the magic begin!

After 10-15 minutes of pressure building, release it using the natural-release method for 12 minutes, followed by a quick-release method for 5 minutes. Remove the pork chops to a plate, and get ready for the pièce de résistance – the mushroom gravy!

Hit Cancel, switch to Sauté function, and add in 6 ounces of quartered portobello mushrooms. Stir until they’re tender, then whisk together ¼ cup of whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, and ½ teaspoon of browning sauce. Add the mixture to the pot, and let it thicken slightly, about 3 minutes.

Ladle that rich, creamy mushroom gravy over the pork chops, and serve immediately. Your taste buds will thank you, and so will your belly!

So, the next time you’re faced with a block of frozen pork, don’t reach for the phone to order takeout. Instead, grab your Instant Pot, and get ready to unleash a culinary masterpiece that’ll make everyone at the table beg for seconds!
