It’s the most wonderful time of the year… for baking, that is! And what’s more festive than a batch of soft, chewy, and oh-so-spicy gingerbread cookies?

These babies are the perfect treat to get you in the holiday mood. And the best part? They’re ridiculously easy to make, even for the most novice of bakers!
First things first, you’ll need to whip up the dough. Beat together some room-temperature butter and brown sugar until it’s light and fluffy, then add in some molasses, vanilla extract, and a large egg. Yes, it’s a lot of ingredients, but trust me, it’s worth it!
In a separate bowl, whisk together some flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Don’t worry if it sounds like a lot of spices – they all come together to create that signature gingerbread flavor!
